BI MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. MCL-08-013
PROVIDING AMENDMENT TO THE IMPLEMENTING GUIDELINES GRANTING PERMANENT RESIDENCE VISA TO CHINESE AND KOREANS (OFFICE MEMORANDUM ORDER NOS. MCL-07-005 & MCL-08-003)
In Memorandum Order No. MCL-07-021 dated December 14, 2007 providing for permanent resident visa to Chinese in the Philippines, provides, thus:
'Likewise, a Chinese national who is married to a Filipino citizen or to a permanent resident alien or who is the son or daughter of a permanent resident alien parent shall be granted permanent resident visa upon proper application, qualification and payment of immigration fees.' (emphasis supplied) TaDIHc
Likewise, in Memorandum Order No. MCL-08-003 n dated January 29, 2008 providing for permanent resident visa to Koreans in the Philippines, provides, thus:
'In the interest of reciprocity, therefore, a Korean national who is married to a Filipino citizen or to a permanent resident alien or who is the son or daughter of a permanent resident alien parent shall be granted permanent resident visa upon proper application, qualification and payment of immigration fees.' (emphasis supplied)
In their Implementing Guidelines, however, children of permanent residents were inadvertently not included as those who are qualified to apply for permanent resident visa. CacISA
In view thereof, to conform with Memorandum Orders granting permanent resident visa to Chinese and Koreans, letter C of their Implementing Guidelines (Office Memorandum Order Nos. MCL-07-005 & MCL-08-003 dated December 21, 2007 and January 29, 2008, respectively) should be, as it is hereby amended and read, as follows:

'C. Chinese national who is validly married to a lawful permanent resident alien in the Philippines or who is the legitimate and natural child of a lawful permanent resident alien shall be granted permanent resident visa under Memorandum Order No. MCL-07-021 upon submission of the following: EIcSTD

C. Korean national who is validly married to a lawful permanent resident alien in the Philippines or who is the legitimate and natural child of a lawful permanent resident alien shall be granted permanent resident visa under Memorandum Order No. MCL-08-003 for an initial period of one (1) year as probationary period and after which, upon proper application, qualification and approval by the Board of Commissioners, shall be amended to permanent status upon submission of the following: ATaDHC
