Amendment to Revised Administrative Code Re: San Fernando, La Union as Port of Entry
Republic Act No. 284, approved on June 16, 1948, amends the Revised Administrative Code to designate San Fernando in the Province of La Union as an official port of entry in the Philippines. The Act updates the collection districts and specifies that San Fernando will be included among the principal ports of entry, which also feature Manila, Cebu, and others. To facilitate this change, the Act appropriates twenty-five thousand pesos from the National Treasury for establishing and operating the customs service at the new port. The law is effective immediately upon approval.
