Amendment to R.A. No. 36 Re: Designation of Census Officers

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 259

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION FIVE OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-SIX

SECTION 1. Section five of Republic Act Numbered Thirty-six is amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 5. The necessary supervisors, enumerators and other subordinate personnel for this census work shall be appointed by the Director of the Census and Statistics and may be drafted from the personnel of the Government, including provincial, city and municipal officials and employees, schoolteachers, field forces of the different bureaus and offices, city and municipal police forces, and members of the Philippine Army: Provided, however, That such officers and employees of the Government as may be designated Census Officers may be given a recess from their ordinary duties by the President of the Philippines."

SECTION 2. All provisions of Republic Act Numbered Thirty-six or parts thereof inconsistent with the provisions hereof are repealed.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
