REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6115
AN ACT FURTHER AMENDING SECTION NINETEEN OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED THREE HUNDRED NINE BY PROVIDING FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF RECEIPTS IN HORSE RACING
Section nineteen of Republic Act Numbered Three hundred nine, as amended by Republic Act Numbered Nineteen hundred thirty-three, is further amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 19. Distribution of receipts. — The total wager funds or gross receipts from the sale of pari-mutuel tickets shall be apportioned as follows: eighty-seven per centum shall be distributed in the form of dividends among the holders of win, place and show horse, as the case may be, in the regular races; six per centum shall be set aside as the commission of the person, racetracks, racing clubs, or any other entity conducting the races; six per centum shall be set aside for the payment of stakes or prizes for win, place and show horses and authorized bonuses for jockeys; one-half per centum shall be turned over to a 'Jockeys and Horse Trainers Injury, Disability and Death Compensation Fund' which is hereby created for the purpose of providing compensation for work-connected injury, disability and death of horse trainers and jockeys. Said fund shall be administered by a board to be composed of the Chairman of the Games and Amusements Board, as chairman; the President of the Philippine Racing Club, Inc., the President of the Philippine Jockeys' Association, the President of the Horse Trainers Mutual Aid Association, the President of the Santa Ana Park Horse Owners, Trainers and Jockeys' Association, Inc., as members. It shall be the duty of the board to meet at least once a month to evaluate and determine the extent and compensability of the injury, disability or death of jockeys or horse trainers injured in the discharge of their work in accordance with the following schedule: cdt

and one-half per centum shall be paid to a special fund to be used by the Games and Amusements Board to cover its expenses and such other purposes authorized under this Act. In the case of daily-double and llave races, the gross receipts derived from the total sale of tickets for said races shall be apportioned in the following manner: eighty-four per centum shall de distributed in the form of dividends among the holders of the winning combination of horses, that is, the two horses that won first place in the two races in the case of the daily-double, and among the holders of the winning combination of horses, that is, the two horses that won first and second place, or either way, in the case of the llave; eight and one-half per centum shall be set aside as the commission of the person, racetrack, racing club, or any other entity holding the horse races; six and one-half per centum for the payment of stakes or prizes to win, llave and show horses; one-half per centum shall be turned over to the Jockeys and Horse Trainers Injury, Disability and Death Compensation Fund as herein created; and one-half per centum as a special fund to be used by the Games and Amusements Board to cover its expenses and such other purposes authorized under this Act: Provided, however, That to promote clean and honest horse racing, licensed jockeys or trainers who are suspended by the racing clubs and the Games and Amusements Board for violation of existing rules on horse racing shall be temporarily suspended from all benefits other than medical and hospitalization expenses during the period of suspension." cdt
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
