Amendment to R.A. No. 1345 (Creation of National Marketing Corp. and Dissolution of Price Stabilization Corp.)
Republic Act No. 3065, enacted on June 17, 1961, amends provisions of Republic Act No. 1345 concerning the National Marketing Corporation (NAMARCO). The amendment permits NAMARCO's Board of Directors to allocate up to three million pesos from its gross earnings for operating expenses, subject to presidential approval, while ensuring no funds are drawn from its authorized capital. Additionally, if NAMARCO increases its workforce, it must prioritize rehiring laid-off civil service eligible employees from NAMARCO or the Price Stabilization Corporation (PRISCO). The law also stipulates that any unspent budget for overhead at the fiscal year's end will revert to the revolving fund, effective January 1, 1962.
