Amendment to R.A. No. 1161 (Social Security Act of 1954)
Republic Act No. 4482, enacted on June 19, 1965, amends the Social Security Act of 1954, specifically addressing the reimbursement process for employers. It stipulates that employers will be reimbursed 100% of daily benefits paid, contingent on providing satisfactory proof of payment. The Social Security System must adjudicate these reimbursement claims within two months; if not processed in time, employers can deduct the claimed amount from their monthly premium remittances. However, should the claim be denied or adjusted, employers must subsequently remit any necessary adjustments to the System. This Act took effect upon approval and was published in the Official Gazette on October 31, 1966.
