Republic Act No. 9286Apr 2, 2004Statutes

Republic Act No. 9286, enacted on April 2, 2004, amends the Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973 by modifying compensation rules for board directors. Directors are entitled to a per diem for each meeting attended, capped at the equivalent of four meetings per month, with any amount exceeding P150 subject to administrative approval. The Act also mandates the appointment of a general manager by the Board, whose removal requires due process. Additionally, it includes a separability clause, ensuring that unaffected provisions remain in force if any part is deemed unconstitutional, and repeals conflicting laws. The Act takes effect upon its approval.
