Amendment to P.D. No. 1011 Re: Creation of Municipality of South Upi in Maguindanao
Presidential Decree No. 1580, issued on June 11, 1978, amends an earlier decree to create the Municipality of South Upi in Maguindanao, separating certain barangays from the Municipality of Upi. The new seat of government for South Upi is established in Sitio Timanan, Barangay Romoangaob, due to its central and accessible location, which is deemed more conducive to municipal development. The decree emphasizes that the legal existence of the original Municipality of Upi remains unaffected. This amendment took effect immediately upon issuance.
