Amendment to C.A. No. 156 Re: Horses Participating in Grand Derby Races Held by Philippine Anti-Tuberculosis Society
Republic Act No. 308, enacted on June 18, 1948, amends Section 3 of Commonwealth Act No. 156 to define the eligibility of horses participating in the Grand Derby races organized by the Philippine Anti-Tuberculosis Society. The Act establishes two categories for the races: a "Senior Grand Derby" for horses over fifty-six inches and a "Junior Grand Derby" for those not exceeding that height, both running a mile. Only horses that participated in designated previous races may enter, and they must be registered at least thirty days prior to the event. This legislation aims to promote organized racing while supporting public health initiatives.
