Amendment to Administrative Order No. 2018-0021
The Department of Health (DOH) Administrative Order No. 2018-0021-A amends the guidelines for the "Enhanced 4S-Strategy" aimed at combating dengue, chikungunya, and Zika. The revised strategy emphasizes the importance of searching and destroying mosquito breeding sites, securing self-protection, seeking early medical consultation, and supporting fogging or spraying only in areas with a registered increase in cases over two consecutive weeks. All other provisions of the original order remain in effect, and any conflicting regulations are rescinded or modified. This amendment takes effect immediately.

Pursuant to AO No. 2018-0021 entitled "Guidelines for the Nationwide Implementation of the Enhanced 4S-Strategy against Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika" dated July 25, 2018, the following provision is hereby amended:
V. GENERAL GUIDELINES

Under No. 3
3. The 4S in the "Enhanced 4S" strategy stands for; Search and destroy breeding sites; Seek early consultation; Self-protection; and Say yes to fogging only in hotspot areas where increase in cases is registered for two consecutive weeks
The aforementioned is hereby amended to be read as follows:
3. The 4S in the "Enhanced 4S" strategy stands for; Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites; Secure self-protection; Seek early consultation; and Support fogging/spraying only in hotspot areas where increase in cases is registered for two consecutive weeks to prevent an impending outbreak.

All other provisions of the Administrative Order No. 2018-0021 shall remain in effect and provisions/issuances inconsistent or contrary to this Order are hereby rescinded or modified accordingly.
This order shall take effect immediately.
