Amendment to Act No. 687 Re: Furnishing Transportation to the US of Officers and Employees of the Insular Government
Act No. 1425, enacted on December 16, 1905, amends a previous law concerning transportation for officers and employees of the Insular Government from Manila to the United States. The amendment allows payments for transportation to be made directly to transportation companies rather than through the Insular Disbursing Officer. It establishes that transportation is provided when it is impractical to secure it via U.S. Army transports and outlines the conditions under which government employees can access transportation contracts for personal travel. The Act emphasizes efficiency in processing these transportation requests and takes effect immediately upon passage.
