Amendment to Act No. 4185
Act No. 4219, approved on August 6, 1935, amends Section 5 of Act No. 4185 concerning irrigation systems in the Philippines. It stipulates that the amended provisions apply to both completed and future irrigation systems, enforcing an annual charge not exceeding six pesos per hectare effective from the year 1934, with no refunds for prior payments. Additionally, it suspends ongoing court cases related to unpaid irrigation charges, allowing landowners until January 31, 1936, to settle their debts without penalties. Landowners deemed not benefited by the irrigation system will be exempt from these charges, and the responsible committee must communicate relevant payment statuses to the provincial court.
