Amendment of Administrative Order Nos. 84AO-003 and 96-001
On April 25, 2014, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) issued Administrative Order No. AVT-2014-025, which amends previous regulations regarding the staggered monthly registration of motor vehicles and the issuance of license plates upon changes in vehicle classification. The order specifies that the last digit of the plate number determines the registration month, while the second-to-last digit indicates the registration week. Additionally, it mandates that vehicles retaining the same plate number upon a change in classification will keep their alpha and numeric symbols, except for diplomatic vehicles, which will require new plates. This amendment supersedes earlier provisions and takes effect immediately.
