EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 699
AMENDING THE COMPOSITION OF THE PRESIDENTIAL ANTI-GRAFT COMMISSION CREATED UNDER EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 12, SERIES OF 2001, AS AMENDED
WHEREAS, the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission has been strengthened to demonstrate the government's firm resolve to pursue and intensify its anti-corruption campaign; CEDHTa
WHEREAS, in order to meet its expanded mandate, there is now a need to reorganize or restructure the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA M. ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws, do hereby order the following amendments to Executive Order No. 12, as amended by Executive Order No. 327 (series of 2004), Executive Order Nos. 531, 531-A and 531-B (series of 2006) and Executive Order No. 670 (series of 2007):
SECTION 1. The first paragraph of Section 2 of Executive Order No. 12 series of 2001, as amended by Executive Order No. 327 (series of 2004) is hereby further amended to read as follows:
"Composition. — The Commission shall be composed of a Chairperson and four (4) Commissioners to be appointed by the President. All members of the Commission shall serve on a full-time basis and at least three (3) of them shall be members of the Philippine Bar." AIaSTE
SECTION 2. All orders, rules, regulations and issuances or parts thereof inconsistent with this Executive Order are hereby repealed, amended or otherwise modified accordingly.
SECTION 3. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately upon publication in a newspaper of general circulation. aDHCAE
