Amending the Cockfighting Law of 1974
Presidential Decree No. 1140, issued on May 13, 1977, extends the compliance period for the zoning requirements of the Cockfighting Law of 1974. Originally, owners, lessees, and operators of cockpits were required to relocate their establishments away from residential and commercial areas, among others, within three years, a deadline that expired on May 9, 1977. In response to petitions from local governments and cockpit operators, the decree grants an additional year for compliance. This extension aims to facilitate a smoother transition for those affected by the law's requirements.
