Amending Section 45 and Section 47 of C.A. No. 141 (Public Land Act)
Commonwealth Act No. 292, enacted on June 9, 1938, amends specific sections of Commonwealth Act No. 141 concerning public domain lands. It empowers the President, upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce, to proclaim periods for filing applications for free patents on agricultural public lands, with a deadline set for December 31, 1941, for most regions, while allowing extensions for certain provinces. The law mandates that proclamations be published in the Official Gazette and disseminated to relevant local authorities. It also clarifies that specified individuals may take advantage of this act within the designated timeframes, but may act sooner if desired. The act takes effect upon approval.
