Amending Proclamation No. 448 (s. 2003) to Declare the Month of October of Every Year as "National Anti-Piracy Month"
Proclamation No. 596, issued on October 1, 2018, amends Proclamation No. 448 (s. 2003) to designate October of each year as "National Anti-Piracy Month" in the Philippines. This change follows the reorganization of the Videogram Regulatory Board into the Optical Media Board (OMB) under Republic Act No. 9239, which aims to enhance the regulation of optical and magnetic media and protect intellectual property rights. The proclamation emphasizes the importance of raising public awareness about the negative impacts of piracy and counterfeiting on the economy. All government agencies and local government units are encouraged to support OMB's initiatives during this month.
