Amending P.D. No. 791
Presidential Decree No. 1710, signed on August 13, 1980, amends Presidential Decree No. 791, which originally provided exemptions from customs and tariff duties, as well as special import and compensating taxes for sugar industry-related imports. The amendment extends these exemptions for an additional five years, now valid until June 30, 1985, for individuals and entities involved in the manufacturing, milling, processing, or refining of sugar. This decree aims to support the sugar industry by reducing import costs for necessary machinery and equipment. The law took immediate effect upon its approval.
