ACT NO. 1318
AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED TWELVE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE, APPROPRIATING OUT OF THE CONGRESSIONAL RELIEF FUND THE SUM OF THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS, PHILIPPINE CURRENCY, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC SCHOOL BUILDINGS, BY PROVIDING FOR THE DISBURSEMENT OF SAID FUND AND ANY OTHER MONEYS SUBSCRIBED, APPROPRIATED, OR OTHERWISE LAWFULLY ADDED TO IT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
SECTION 1. Section one of Act Numbered Twelve hundred and seventy-five is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. Out of funds not otherwise appropriated from the relief fund of three million dollars, in money of the United States, voted by Congress of the United States by Act approved March third, nineteen hundred and three, there is hereby appropriated for the Bureau of Education the sum of three hundred and fifty thousand pesos, Philippine currency, for the construction, remodeling, and repair of buildings and the purchase of land and buildings for intermediate and high school instruction and for the teaching of the useful arts and trades and applied sciences; and the sum so appropriated, together with any other moneys subscribed, appropriated, or otherwise lawfully added to the appropriated to the sum appropriated by this Act by any province, municipality, or person for any or all of said purposes, shall be disbursed by the disbursing officer of the Bureau of Education. If it is impracticable for the disbursing officer of the Bureau of Education to disburse said fund, then the same shall, at the request of the General Superintendent of Education, be disbursed by the treasurer of schools of the division in which the money is to be disbursed, as the General Superintendent may direct. The disbursing officer of the Bureau of Education or the treasurer, as the case may be, shall receive and account for all moneys received and disbursed by him under this Act and shall be responsible on his bond for such moneys in the same manner as for other Insular and provincial funds."
SECTION 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
