Adoption of Mr. Ray Higgins as Son of the Philippines

Republic Act No. 1384, enacted on June 18, 1955, officially adopts Mr. Ray Higgins, an American resident in the Philippines, as a "son of the Philippines." This legislation recognizes his significant contributions to public health through his roles in the Philippine National Red Cross and the Philippine Eyebank for Sight Restoration, Inc. Consequently, he is granted all the rights, privileges, and prerogatives of Philippine citizenship. The act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette later that year.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1384

AN ACT ADOPTING MR. RAY HIGGINS AS SON OF THE PHILIPPINES, AND CONFERRING UPON HIM ALL THE RIGHTS, PRIVILEGES AND PREROGATIVES OF PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP

WHEREAS, Mr. Ray Higgins, an American resident in the Philippines, as volunteer Chairman of the National Blood Donor Recruitment Committee of the Philippine National Red Cross, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Eyebank for Sight Restoration, Inc., has saved more lives and has contributed more to the promotion of health in the Philippines than most citizens thereof: Now, therefore,

SECTION 1. Mr. Ray Higgins, an American resident in the Philippines, is hereby adopted as son of the Philippines and conferred all the rights, privileges and prerogatives of Philippine citizenship. cd

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
