Abolition of Barrio Higatangan and Creation of Barrios Libertad and Mabini in Naval, Leyte
Republic Act No. 2034, enacted on June 23, 1957, abolishes the barrio of Higatangan in the Municipality of Naval, Province of Leyte. In its place, it establishes two new barrios named Libertad and Mabini, derived from the existing sitios within Higatangan. The act took effect upon its approval and was published in the Official Gazette on December 15, 1957.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2034
AN ACT ABOLISHING THE BARRIO OF HIGATANGAN, HIGATANGAN ISLAND, MUNICIPALITY OF NAVAL, PROVINCE OF LEYTE, AND CREATING INSTEAD THE BARRIOS OF LIBERTAD AND MABINI IN THE SAME MUNICIPALITY
SECTION 1. The barrio of Higatangan, Higatangan Island, Municipality of Naval, Province of Leyte, is abolished and instead its sitios of Libertad and Mabini are converted into barrios of the same municipality, to be known as the barrios of Libertad and Mabini, respectively. cdt
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. cd
