Please take notice that the Court, First Division, issued a Resolution datedMay 5, 2021which reads as follows: aDSIHc
"G.R. Nos. 245896-97 (Mariflor Sanchez-Garcia and Gilda Cordero-Panal vs. Honorable Sandiganbayan, Third Division and the Office of the Special Prosecutor of the Office of the Ombudsman);G.R. Nos. 246177-78 (Roger Cabales Chio vs. Sandiganbayan, Third [3rd] Division and People of the Philippines); and G.R. Nos. 246671-72 (Rita R. Retino vs. Honorable Sandiganbayan, Third Division and the Office of the Special Prosecutor of the Office of the Ombudsman). — The Court resolves to NOTE the following:
(1) the manifestation with compliance (re: Resolution dated February 19, 2020) of Atty. Jose Gabriel Antonio T. Sollano of Villaraza and Angangco, counsel for petitioner in G.R. Nos. 246177-78, stating, among others, that petitioner Chio died on August 11, 2020 per information given by his daughter, and that in view of the demise of petitioner Chio, counsel is withdrawing the petition due to the extinguishment of any criminal liability;
(2) the manifestation (re: certificate of death) of Atty. Jose Gabriel Antonio T. Sollano of Villaraza and Angangco, counsel for petitioner in G.R. Nos. 246177-78, stating that on September 1, 2020, a manifestation with compliance (re: Resolution dated February 19, 2020) was filed, informing this Court of the death of petitioner Chio last August 11, 2020, and submitting the thereto attached certified true copy of the certificate of death of said petitioner; and
(3) the compliance of petitioners in G.R. Nos. 245896-97 with the Resolution dated June 10, 2020, submitting the thereto attached verified declaration of electronic submission of the petition, one (1) compact disc containing the soft copy of the petition, and one (1) hard copy of the petition for certiorari and prohibition.
