NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, Third Division, issued a Resolution dated January 22, 2018, which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 232243:(People of the Philippines, plaintiff-appellee v. Judy Salvador y Soriano, accused-appellant.) — On July 6, 2017, 1 the Court of Appeals elevated to this Court the records of this case, pursuant to its February 8, 2017 Resolution, 2 which gave due course to the Notice of Appeal 3 filed by accused-appellant, Judy Salvador y Soriano.
In its August 9, 2017 Resolution, 4 this Court noted the records of the case forwarded by the Court of Appeals. The parties were then ordered to file their supplemental briefs, should they so desired, within 30 days from notice.
However, both parties manifested that they would no longer file supplemental briefs. 5
After evaluating the records of this case, this Court resolves to AFFIRM the assailed Court of Appeals January 24, 2017 Decision 6 in CA-G.R. CR-HC No. 06782 as accused-appellant failed to show any reversible error in the challenged Decision warranting the exercise of this Court's appellate jurisdiction.
WHEREFORE, the findings of fact and conclusions of law of the Court of Appeals are AFFIRMED. Accused-appellant, Judy Salvador y Soriano, is found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of statutory rape punished under Article 266-A (1) (d) of the Revised Penal Code. He is sentenced to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua.
Furthermore, accused-appellant is ordered to pay AAA P100,000.00 as civil indemnity, P100,000.00 as moral damages, and P100,000.00 as exemplary damages, all amounts shall earn interest at the legal rate of six percent (6%) per annum from the date of finality of the judgment in this case until full payment.
