NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, Second Division, issued a Resolution dated 10 March 2014which reads as follows:
G.R. No. 209230 (People of the Philippines v. Ronald Del Rio y Zamora).
After a judicious perusal of the records, the Court resolves to DISMISS the appeal for failure to sufficiently show that the Court of Appeals (CA) committed any reversible error in its assailed Decision as to warrant the exercise of the Court's appellate jurisdiction.
WHEREFORE, the Court ADOPTS the findings of fact and conclusions of law in the March 25, 2013 Decision 1 of the CA in CA-G.R. CR-HC No. 04894 and AFFIRMS said Decision in toto finding accused-appellant Ronald Del Rio y Zamora GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of illegal sale and possession of prohibited drugs, sentencing him to suffer the following penalties: (a) life imprisonment and to pay a fine of P500,000.00 in violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002"; and (b) imprisonment of twelve (12) years and one (1) day as minimum to seventeen (17) years and eight (8) months and a fine of P300,000.00 in violation of Section 11, Article II of the same Act.
