NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, Third Division, issued a Resolution datedJune 7, 2017, which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 202703 (People of the Philippines vs. Ma. Theresa Perez y Agravante). — After an exhaustive review of the allegations, issues and arguments presented by the parties, the Court resolves to DISMISS the appeal for failure to sufficiently prove that the Court of Appeals committed a reversible error in its disputed Decision 1 dated February 29, 2012 in CA-G.R. CR HC No. 04044 as to warrant the exercise of the Court's discretionary appellate jurisdiction.
WHEREFORE, premises considered, the Court ADOPTS and AFFIRMS the findings of fact and conclusions of law of the Court of Appeals in its Decision dated February 29, 2012 in CA-G.R. CR HC No. 04044, finding accused-appellant Ma. Theresa Perez y Agravante GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of the crimes of Illegal Recruitment in large scale and three (3) counts of Estafa. In the crime of Illegal Recruitment, the Court AFFIRMS the imposition of the penalty of life imprisonment and the payment of a fine in the amount of P500,000.00. In the three (3) counts of Estafa, the indeterminate sentences imposed are also AFFIRMED." (Jardeleza, J., no part in view of his prior action in the Office of the Solicitor General; Carpio, J., designated additional Member per Raffle dated January 5, 2015.)
