Please take notice that the Court, Third Division, issued a Resolution datedJune 7, 2017, which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 223116 (People of the Philippines vs. Julito Manto y Magno). — This is an appeal 1 under Section 13 (c) of Rule 124 of the Rules of Court, as amended, seeking to annul and set aside the Decision 2 dated March 30, 2015 issued by the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CR HC No. 06297. TAIaHE
After a perusal of the records of the case, the Court resolves to DISMISS the appeal for failure of defendant-appellant Julito Manto y Magno to sufficiently show any reversible error in the herein assailed decision to warrant the exercise of the Court's appellate jurisdiction.
WHEREFORE, the Court ADOPTS and AFFIRMS the factual findings and conclusions of law in the Decision dated March 30, 2015 of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CR HC No. 06297, holding defendant-appellant Julito Manto y Magno guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of Rape under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, as amended, with MODIFICATION as to the monetary award. Defendant-appellant Julito Manto y Magno is hereby directed to pay the victim, AAA, the sums of P100,000.00 as civil indemnity, P100,000.00 as moral damages, and P100,000.00 as exemplary damages. 3 He is hereby further directed to pay an interest at the legal rate of six percent (6%) per annum on all the amounts of damages awarded, to be computed from the date of finality of this Resolution until fully paid. All other dispositions stand AFFIRMED."
