NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, Second Division, issued a Resolution dated17 October 2018which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 229517 (People of the Philippines v. Mabuhay Machete)
After a careful review of the records of the case, the Court finds no reversible error in the assailed decision. However, the amounts of moral and exemplary damages should be increased to P100,000 pursuant to prevailing jurisprudence. 1
WHEREFORE, the Court ADOPTS the findings of fact and conclusions of law in the attached Decision dated 17 December 2015 of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CR-HC No. 07095. The Decision finding appellant Mabuhay Machete guilty of the crime of rape with homicide and sentencing him to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua, without eligibility for parole, is AFFIRMED with MODIFICATION that the amounts of moral and exemplary damages are increased to P100,000 each. Interest at the rate of 6% per annum is imposed on all damages awarded from the date of finality of this Resolution until fully paid.
