NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, First Division, issued a Resolution datedJuly 6, 2021which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 252555 (People of the Philippines, Plaintiff-Appellee, v. Roberto Galang y Infante, Accused-Appellant.) — After a perusal of the records of the case, this Court resolves to dismiss the appeal for failure of accused-appellant Roberto Galang y Infante to sufficiently show that the Court of Appeals committed reversible error in upholding his conviction for the crime of Qualified Trafficking in Persons.
Nonetheless, the Court deems it proper to increase the award of moral damages to P500,000.00, consistent with prevailing jurisprudence. 1
WHEREFORE, the appeal is DISMISSED. The Decision dated 04 April 2019 of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CR-HC No. 08787 is hereby AFFIRMED with MODIFICATION in that the award of moral damages is increased to P500,000.00.
