NOTICE
Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, Second Division, issued a Resolution dated05 July 2017which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 225959 (People of the Philippines v. Adrian Distor y De Guzman). — Considering the issues and arguments raised in the appellant's and the appellee's briefs, which they adopted instead of filing their supplemental briefs, the Court resolves to DISMISS the appeal for failure to sufficiently show that the Court of Appeals committed any reversible error in its assailed Decision dated October 14, 2014, as to warrant the exercise of the Court's appellate jurisdiction.
IN VIEW OF THE FOREGOING, the Court ADOPTS the findings of fact and conclusions of law in the Court of Appeals Decision dated October 14, 2014 in CA-G.R. CR-HC No. 06344, and AFFIRMS the said Decision, finding appellant Adrian Distor y De Guzman guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the crimes charged in Criminal Cases Nos. 16658-D and 16659-D for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002, and sentencing him as follows:
1. In Criminal Case No. 16658-D, to suffer the penalty of life imprisonment and to pay the fine of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (P500,000.00).
2. In Criminal Case No. 16659-D, to suffer imprisonment of twelve (12) years and one (1) day to fifteen (15) years, and a fine of Three Hundred Thousand pesos (P300,000.00).
