Please take notice that the Court, Third Division, issued a Resolution datedMarch 15, 2017, which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 223684 (People of the Philippines vs. Elizabeth Arcenas y Alonzo). — After an exhaustive review of the allegations, issues and arguments presented by the parties, the Court resolves to DISMISS the appeal for failure to sufficiently prove that the Court of Appeals committed a reversible error in its disputed Decision 1 dated April 30, 2015 in CA-G.R. CR No. 05381, as to warrant the exercise of the Court's discretionary appellate jurisdiction.
WHEREFORE, premises considered, the Court adopts the findings of fact and conclusions of law of the Court of Appeals in its Decision dated April 30, 2015 in CA-G.R. CR No. 05381, finding accused-appellant Elizabeth Arcenas y Alonzo GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The imposition of the penalty of life imprisonment and payment of a fine in the amount of P500,000.00 is AFFIRMED."
