Please take notice that the Court, Third Division, issued a Resolution datedJuly 28, 2014, which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 208711 (People of the Philippines vs. Ivan J. Acedillo alias "Nurul Xanz," Archie De Guzman, Roberto Petralba alias "Brother Tsong" and "Brod Pete," Alexander Fermin and Nelly Tabcug, accused; Ivan J. Acedillo alias "Nurul Xanz," accused-appellant). — *The supplemental brief of the Office of the Solicitor General is Noted.
Considering the allegations, issues and arguments presented, the Court resolves to DISMISS the appeal for failure to sufficiently show that the Court of Appeals committed any reversible error in its assailed Decision dated May 31, 2013 as to warrant the exercise of the Court's appellate jurisdiction.
IN VIEW OF THE FOREGOING, the Court AFFIRMS the Decision dated May 31, 2013 of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CR-H.C. No. 05222 holding that, in Criminal Case No. 05-236249, accused-appellant Ivan J. Acedillo is guilty beyond reasonable doubt of illegal recruitment committed in large scale and is sentenced to suffer the penalty of life imprisonment and to pay a fine of five hundred thousand pesos (PhP500,000); and in Criminal Case No. 05-236250, accused-appellant Ivan J. Acedillo is guilty of the crime of illegal recruitment and is sentenced to suffer the penalty of imprisonment for ten (10) years and one (1) day to twelve (12) years and to pay a fine of two hundred thousand pesos (PhP200,000).
