Please take notice that the Court, Third Division, issued a Resolution datedJanuary 24, 2018, which reads as follows: ITAaHc
"G.R. No. 215794: (People of the Philippines, plaintiff-appellee, v. Arnold Abarientos y Doe, accused-appellant.) — The Court of Appeals elevated the records of this case to this Court on January 12, 2015 1 pursuant to its March 24, 2014 Resolution, 2 which gave due course to the Notice of Appeal 3 filed by accused-appellant Arnold Abarientos y Doe (Abarientos).
In its April 15, 2015 Resolution, 4 this Court noted the records of this case and informed the parties that they may file their supplemental briefs.
In its July 20, 2015 Resolution, 5 this Court noted the respective manifestations filed by the Office of the Solicitor General 6 and by accused-appellant, 7 stating that they would no longer file supplemental briefs.
After an evaluation of the records of this case, this Court resolves to DISMISS the appeal of accused-appellant Abarientos for his failure to sufficiently show reversible error in the assailed Court of Appeals November 20, 2013 Decision, 8 warranting the exercise of this Court's appellate jurisdiction.
WHEREFORE, this Court ADOPTS the findings of fact and conclusions of law of the Regional Trial Court and of the Court of Appeals. The Court of Appeals November 20, 2013 Decision in CA-G.R. CR HC No. 05022 is hereby AFFIRMED in toto. This Court finds accused-appellant Arnold Abarientos y Doe GUILTY beyond reasonable doubt of the crime of MURDER.
All monetary awards for damages shall earn interest at the legal rate of six percent (6%) per annum from the date of the finality of the judgment in this case until fully paid.
