Please take notice that the Court, First Division, issued a Resolution datedJuly 3, 2019which reads as follows:
"G.R. No. 244691 (Felix Maranan y Dansalan v. People of the Philippines). — The motion for extension of time to file petition for review on certiorari filed by petitioner Felix Maranan y Dansalan is GRANTED.
After review, the Court resolves to DENY the petition for failure to show that the Court of Appeals (CA) committed reversible error in upholding petitioner's conviction. Findings of fact of the Regional Trial Court, when affirmed by the CA, are accorded great respect and even finality by this Court. HTcADC
WHEREFORE, the petition is DENIED. The Decision dated September 7, 2018 and Resolution dated February 6, 2019 of the Court Appeals in CA-G.R. CR No. 40225 finding petitioner GUILTY of violation of Section 28 (i) of Republic Act No. 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and sentencing him to a penalty of imprisonment of six (6) years and one (1) day of prision mayor as minimum to eight (8) years and one (1) day of prision mayor as maximum, as well as ordering the confiscation and forfeiture of the three live ammunition in favor of the Government, are AFFIRMED.
