Granada v. People
The case before the Second Division of the Supreme Court is a consolidated resolution for five criminal cases, namely: G.R. No. 184092, 186084, 186272, 186488, and 186570. The petitioners in these cases filed motions for leave to travel, but the Court denied the motion of petitioner Susana Cabahug due to lack of merit. The Court noted that Cabahug's request for medical attention was not supported by any evidence, and she is a flight risk having been convicted by the Sandiganbayan. The Court required the Office of the Special Prosecutor to comment on the other motions for leave to travel within ten (10) days from notice. (Criminal)

Petitioner Susana B. Cabahug (petitioner Cabahug) filed with this court a motion for leave to travel on April 7, 2014. 1 In the motion, petitioner Cabahug stated that she will go to Indiana for her granddaughter's graduation, 2 and to Nevada for medical reasons. 3
In a resolution dated April 21, 2014, this court noted the motion for leave to travel and required the Office of the Special Prosecutor to comment within ten (10) days from notice. 4 In compliance, the Office of the Special Prosecutor filed a manifestation and opposition on the motion for leave to travel. 5 It prayed that petitioner Cabahug's motion be denied because there are no justifiable reasons for her travel; that her request for medical attention was neither supported by any evidence nor did she state the specific medical treatment she will undergo; and that she is a flight risk for having been convicted by the Sandiganbayan. 6
Acting on the motion for leave to travel of petitioner Cabahug to travel to Nevada and Indiana, United States of America from May 10, 2014 to June 8, 2014, this court resolves to DENY the motion for lack of merit.
SO ORDERED.
