Sirs/Mesdames :
Please take notice that the Court, First Division, issued a Resolution datedFebruary 7, 2018which reads as follows: DHITCc
"G.R. No. 235478 (Romel H. Beltran v. Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon, and Juan T. Baldo, Marcelina P. Pucdo, Joel C. Buena, and Susan M. Habbiling). — After review of the records, the Court resolves to DISMISS the petition for failure to sufficiently show that the Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon committed grave abuse of discretion in its assailed resolution and order. This Court reiterates the time-honored principle that public office is a public trust, and public officers, as recipients of public trust, are under obligation to perform the duties of their offices honestly, faithfully, and to the best of their ability. In the exercise of its duty to guard the sacred public trust reposed on public officers, factual findings of the Ombudsman are conclusive and are accorded due respect and weight when supported by substantial evidence, and not attended by any misapprehension of fact or grave abuse of discretion.
WHEREFORE, premises considered, the petition is DISMISSED. The assailed Resolution dated July 3, 2017 and Order dated September 5, 2017 of the Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon in OMB-L-C-16-0368 are hereby AFFIRMED.
SO ORDERED."
Very truly yours,
