Please take notice that the Court, Second Division, issued a Resolution dated06 December 2017which reads as follows: HTcADC
"G.R. No. 234247 — Vilma B. Almario versus People of the Philippines
After reviewing the Petition and its annexes, inclusive of the Court of Appeals' (CA) Decision 1 dated June 7, 2017 and Resolution 2 dated September 15, 2017 in CA-G.R. CR No. 39225, the Court resolves to DENY the Petition and AFFIRM the Decision and Resolution of the CA since the petitioner failed to sufficiently show that the CA committed any reversible error in the assailed Decision and Resolution as to warrant the exercise of this Court's discretionary appellate jurisdiction.
The CA affirmed the rulings of the Metropolitan Trial Court and the Regional Trial Court which found the presence of all elements of Batas Pambansa Blg. 22. The CA emphasized that petitioner was informed of the dishonor of the checks on several instances. Findings of facts of lower courts, especially when affirmed by the CA, are entitled to great weight and should not be disturbed on appeal, unless strong reasons dictate otherwise.
