Roberto S . Claudio President Gentlemen : This has reference to your letter dated January 29, 1988 inquiring about the VAT treatment of certain items. Please be informed that mothballs, magic chalk, off mosquito repellant spray/lotion, shellguard dog shampoo, shellguard flea powder are all exempt from the value-added tax under the classification of household insecticides under Section 103 (c), while activity books are also exempt as books under Section 103 (f) of the Tax Code, as amended by Executive Order No. 273. cdtech Very truly yours, BIENVENIDO A.
