February 15, 2001 VAT RULING NO. 003-01 E.O. 465 000-00 Hantex International Corporation Suite 901, Tytana Plaza, Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz Binondo, Manila 1006 Attention: Ms . Imelda T . Sanguyo Corporate Secretary Gentlemen : This refers to your letter dated 01 February 2001 requesting for a confirmation that your importation, and that of your sister companies, HANTEX TRADING CO., INC. and H.T. MULTIVENTURES CORPORATION, of " Profane (Propylene), " is exempt from the 10% value-added tax (VAT). Please be informed that your letter is incomplete as to the facts and the law for this Office to resolve whether or not the said importation is, in fact and in law, exempt from the 10% VAT. Please kindly submit the following: 1. A copy of E.O. No. 465, under which the said importers are purportedly exempt from the VAT. State also in your letter the pertinent provision thereof that makes the said importation VAT exempt. 2. You stated that "some" of your companies are "Ecozone" registered enterprises.
