Valenzuela WHEREAS, Section 447 (2) (ii) of the Local Government Code of 1991 authorizes the Sangguniang Bayan to levy taxes, fees and charges, prescribed rates for general and specific purposes and grant tax exemptions, incentives or relief; IAcDET WHEREAS, to encourage taxpayers to pay their taxes, fees and arrears and to generate more income for the municipality for an efficient and economical governance, there is a necessity to authorize the Municipal Mayor or his representative through written authorization to grant relief or discounts to penalties, interest or surcharges in the payment of taxes or fees on real properties, such as land, buildings and machineries; WHEREAS, on motion duly seconded, the Sangguniang Bayan in session duly assembled, ordain that: SECTION 1. The Municipal Mayor in his capacity as Chief Executive of the Municipality of Taguig or his representative through written authority is hereby authorized to grant relief or discount to taxpayers in so far as payment of penalties, interest or surcharges on businesses and real properties such as lands, buildings, machineries in the Municipality of Taguig, provided however, that the basic tax due of the subject real property shall be fully paid.
