April 2, 2004 SEC OPINION NO. 21-04 Re : Business Name Mr. Rogelio Tan President Oakridge Kitchen Depot Inc. #1 Araneta Ave.,Potrero Malabon, Metro Manila S i r : This refers to your letter requesting a Certification or opinion that your corporation need not register with the Department of Trade and Industry since you have no intention to use another business name other than the corporate name registered with the Commission. Please be advised that Section 14 of the Corporation Code of the Philippines requires that the corporate name shall be stated in the approved Articles of Incorporation. In the absence of any intention to use a business name or style other than the approved corporate name, the SEC approved corporate name can be used in business operations without further registration with the Bureau of Domestic Trade, Department of Trade and Industry.
