December 14, 1983 Chairman Maria Kalaw Katigbak Board of Review for Motion Pictures and Television MBS 4, Bohol Avenue Quezon City Madam: This has reference to your letter dated November 29, 1983 relative to the indorsements of articles of incorporation of companies proposing to engage in Movie Production or Movie business to the Board of Review for Motion Pictures and Television (BRMPT). It appears that the BRMPT's authority over Motion Pictures and Television companies is exercised after their incorporation/organization through BRMPT's power to review motion pictures and television programs produced, distributed, and/or shown by said companies. Likewise, BRMPT's authority over movie theaters is exercised after their incorporation/organization through BRMPT's power to issue permits to operate. Thus, in order to facilitate the registration of corporations/partnerships being organized for the purpose of movie production or movie business, the required prior indorsement is being proposed to be dispensed with. In connection therewith, please be advised that the Commission, in its meeting of December 9, 1983, approved said proposal. Henceforth, the required prior indorsement will be dispensed with and instead, copies of approved articles of incorporation or partnership will be furnished your office for record purposes. llcd Very truly yours, (SGD.) MANUEL G. ABELLO Chairman
