May 11, 1995 Mr. Vedasto D. Ayos Indang Christian Fellowship, Inc. Alulod, Indang, Cavite S i r : This refers to your letter of May 2, 1995 requesting legal advice regarding the withdrawal of Indang Christian Fellowship, Inc. from the Greater Manila Conference, United Church of Christ in the Philippines. LexLib It is well-settled that the moment a corporation/organization is registered with the SEC, it is vested with the separate legal personality to act as a corporation enabling it to exercise such powers, rights and privileges of a corporation granted under the Corporation Code. Accordingly, Indang Christian fellowship, Inc., having been registered separately from other religious organization, can independently exist as such without the intervention of other religious organizations. Its independent status is clearly manifested in its Articles of Incorporation which states: "That this (religious society, religious orders, or diocese, synod, others specify) INDANG CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, INC. is a religious organization of Independent ,Non-profit, and Full Gospel Fellowship and Ministry." (Emphasis supplied) Accordingly, your organization may opt not to be affiliated with any religious corporation. LexLib Very truly yours, (SGD.) FE ELOISA C. GLORIA Associate Commissioner
