Gomez St.,Laoag City M a d a m : This refers to your letter dated June 5, 1996 requesting opinion whether a " single proprietorship " requires registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Please be advised that a business entity organized as " single proprietorship " is not required to be registered with the SEC. The SEC has jurisdiction only on " corporations " organized under the Corporation Code and "partnerships " organized under the Civil Code.
