Juatas President Gentlemen: This relates to your letter, dated August 12, 1986, suggesting that the registration fees required of non-stock, non-profit corporations be abolished. LibLex Anent thereto, please be informed that the examination and filing fee for non-stock corporations is P100.00 plus P10.00 legal research fee, and not P220.00 as alleged in your letter. The filing fee of P100.00 was imposed and collected by the Commission pursuant to the Ministry of Finance Order No. 6-83, implementing Batas Pambansa Blg. 325, as amended by the Cabinet on September 27, 1983. In accordance with Cabinet approval, this revised rate was published in Times Journal and Evening Post, both on their issues of October 10 and 17, 1983, and also in the Official Gazette. Said amount goes to the National Government to finance its expenditures in delivering social and economic goods/services to the people. Unless said fee is repealed by subsequent legal process, the Commission shall continue assessing said amount. In addition, the Commission imposes and collects the amount of P10.00 as legal research fee in the registration of non-stock corporations in pursuance of Joint Circular No. 6-85, issued on September 13, 1985 by the Commission on Audit, Ministry of Finance and Department of Budget and Management. Said amount is remitted to University of the Philippines to constitute its revolving fund for the use of the U.P. Law Complex. Please be advised accordingly. Very truly yours, (SGD.) JULIO A.
