November 27, 2015 SEC NOTICE TO : All Microfinance Nongovernment Organizations (MF-NGOs) SUBJECT : An Act Strengthening Nongovernment Organizations (NGOs) Engaged in Microfinance Operations for the Poor (Republic Act 10693) On 03 November 2015, Republic Act 10693 otherwise known as "An Act Strengthening Nongovernment Organizations (NGOs) Engaged in Microfinance Operations for the Poor" was approved by President Benigno Aquino III. Under the said law, the Implementing Rules and Regulations shall be promulgated in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and relevant organizations. It also provides that three (3) members of the Microfinance NGO Regulatory Council ("Council") shall come from the Microfinance NGO (MF-NGO) sector.
