March 11, 2008 SEC EN BANC CASE NO. 11-07-0289 IN THE MATTER OF LEAGUE OF GOVERNMENT NURSES, INC. (SEC REG. NO. 27665) , petitioner . LIFTING OF THE ORDER OF REVOCATION OF THE CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION O R D E R Petitioner LEAGUE OF GOVERNMENT NURSES, INC. (formerly: The Department of Health National League of Nurses, Inc.) is a non-stock corporation registered with the Commission on August 12, 1965 to "help raise the standards of nursing in the Department of Health. It has its business office address at IF Administrative Office, Bldg. 12 DOH, San Lazaro Compound, Sta. Cruz, Manila. On May 26, 2003, Petitioner's Certificate of Registration was revoked by virtue of an Order dated April 22, 2003, which order was published on April 25, 2003, for non-compliance with the Commission's reportorial requirements. Petitioner now prays for the lifting of the said order of revocation on the ground that in the years 1999-2002 Petitioner concentrated its efforts at combating the exodus of nurses abroad by conducting series of lectures to uplift the morale of government nurses. Petitioner also conducted regional and provincial visits, organized medical missions to areas devastated by calamities and lobbied for the enactment of R.A. 9173. The Nursing Act of 2002; thus its failure to comply with the reportorial requirements of the Commission in those years. As proof of its operation, Petitioner submitted the following: 1) Minutes of the 1st Quarter Board Meeting held on January 20, 2006 and the 4th Quarter Board Meeting held on November 17, 2006 as well as the Board Meeting and Christmas Party held on December 16, 2006. 2) NEWSLETTER for the period January-December 2006. Petitioner further alleges that it has no intention to violate the law and henceforth, commits to comply with the rules and regulations of the Commission regarding the submission of reports. It also paid in full the penalty of Sixty Thousand Five Hundred Pesos (P60,500.00), as evidenced by Official Receipt No. 0115811 dated November 20, 2007, which amount was assessed by the Law and Regulation Division of the Company Registration and Monitoring Department (CRMD). WHEREFORE, premises considered, the Order of the Commission dated May 23, 2003, revoking the Certificate of Registration of LEAGUE OF GOVERNMENT NURSES, INC. is hereby SET ASIDE. Petitioner is hereby ordered to submit Mayor's/Business Permit for the year 2008 within thirty (30) days from receipt hereof. Failure to comply with this directive shall result in the recall of this Order. Let a copy of this Order be furnished the Company Registration and Monitoring Department (CRMD) for implementation and attachment to the corporate records of petitioner on file with the Commission. The Economic Research and Information Department (ERID) is hereby directed to delete the name of Petitioner from the List of Revoked Corporations immediately upon receipt of this Order. SO ORDERED.
