October 10, 2013 SEC EN BANC CASE NO. 08-13-1899 IN THE MATTER OF SUPREME HEAD AND FOUNDER OF UNITED FILIPINO CHURCH (IGLESIA FILIPINISTA), INC. SEC Registration No. 21114 FOR : Change of Registration Status in the SEC Database from "Revoked" to "Registered" ORDER WHEREAS, SUPREME HEAD AND FOUNDER OF UNITED FILIPINO CHURCH (IGLESIA FILIPINISTA), INC. ("subject corporation"), is a corporation sole, registered with the Commission on July 27, 1962 under SEC Registration No. 21114, with principal office address located at Labasan, Zamboanga del Norte. WHEREAS, subject corporation was established for the purpose of administering the temporalities and management of the estates and properties of United Filipino Church (Iglesia Filipinista), Inc.; WHEREAS, Macarthur B. Lavia, in his capacity as the current Supreme Head of the church, executed under oath an affidavit, attesting that the real properties owned by the church, particularly, where its chapels and parish rectories are situated, are devoted exclusively for religious purposes; WHEREAS, it appears from the records of the Commission that the status of subject corporation is "revoked". However, the records are bereft of any decree or order revoking its certificate of registration; ISCaTE WHEREAS, subject corporation intends to continue its registration with the Commission; WHEREAS, the Commission in its En Banc ruling of April 1, 2004, the Commission does not require a corporation sole to submit reports unless it owns properties other than the church premises, which may include convents, rectories, cemeteries for the religious, bank deposits and shares of stock; WHEREAS, since it has presented proof that its properties are devoted exclusively for religious purposes, subject corporation is not required to submit reports and, consequently, is not covered by any mass revocation orders, which revoked delinquent corporations for failure to file reports; WHEREAS, the accurate status of registration of subject corporation is "registered" or active; WHEREFORE, finding the submitted documents sufficient to establish that it has actually no intention to dissolve, the status of SUPREME HEAD AND FOUNDER OF UNITED FILIPINO CHURCH (IGLESIA FILIPINISTA), INC. is hereby corrected from "revoked" to "registered". Further, in order to be continually exempt from reportorial requirements, subject corporation is directed to regularly submit proof that it has no other properties other than the church premises, which may include convents, rectories, cemeteries for the religious, bank deposits and shares of stock; Finally, the Information & Communications Technology Department of this Commission is hereby informed to undertake the change the status of subject corporation in the SEC online database.
