FOR: SETTING ASIDE OF THE ORDER OF REVOCATION OF CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION O R D E R Petitioner Our Lady of Carmel School A.R. of Calatagan, Inc. is a non-stock corporation registered with the Commission on 29 July 1981 1 with the following purposes: 1. To operate and maintain the school; 2. To give a sound, complete and catholic education to the youth in the Philippines; 3. To promote their (the youth) intellectual and moral development; and 4. To render such other charitable and social service as may be approved by the Board of Trustees. 2 Petitioner's business office address is at Brgy. IV, Sto. Domingo Street 4215 Calatagan, Batangas. On 11 August 2003, Petitioner's Certificate of Registration No. 0100203 was revoked pursuant to the Order dated 08 July 2003 for non-compliance with the Commission's reportorial requirements. Said Order was published in a newspaper of general circulation on 11 July 2003. Petitioner now prays for the setting aside of the said Order of Revocation based on the following grounds: 1. for the benefit/concern of the students who will be affected by the said revocation; 2. [it] offers "scholarship grants" to poor but deserving students; 3. the barangay that [it] had adopted for the "Outreach Program ["] will be greatly affected. [The] Evangelization among 50 families is in full throttle by the sisters, teachers and students who are full of enthusiasm and inspiration. [It] is working too little by little in the direction to uplift [its] financial status through [a] livelihood program and will be aided by [its] benefactors, friends of the sisters, teachers and students; 4. [it] offers "catholic education" for almost 27 years [] being the only Catholic Institution in the locality; and 5. [it] gives services through the "bugle and drum ministry" to the public, nearby schools, Church, government institutions[;] and during fiestas, anniversaries and other special occasions. 3 In support of its Petition, Petitioner submitted its 2007 General Information Sheet (GIS) and 2007 Audited Financial Statements. Petitioner also submitted, as proof of its continued operation, copies of the following documents: a) Teacher's Contracts of its Instructors and Professors; b) Pahintulot sa Pangangalakal (Blg. 295) issued on 11 February 2008 by the Tanggapan ng Punong Bayan, Municipality of Calatagan; and c) Scholarship Grants for the school year 2007-2008 prepared by Ms. Alona V. Alvarez. Petitioner further alleges that it has no intention to violate the law and any SEC rules and regulations and henceforth, commits to comply with the rules and regulations of the Commission regarding the submission of reports. It has also paid in full the penalty amounting to Thirty-Three Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty Pesos (Php33,750.00) as evidenced by Official Receipt No. 0146595 dated March 06, 2008. WHEREFORE, premises considered, the Order of the Commission dated 08 July 2003 revoking the Certificate of Registration of Our Lady of Carmel School A.R. of Calatagan, Inc. is hereby SET ASIDE. Let a copy of this Order be furnished the Company Registration and Monitoring Department (CRMD) and the Economic Research and Information Department (ERID) of this Commission for their appropriate action.
