February 15, 2016 SAN JUAN CITY ORDINANCE NO. 009-16 AN ORDINANCE GRANTING THE REQUEST OF MUSIC MUSEUM GROUP INCORPORATED FOR THE EXTENSION OF EXISTING AGREEMENT OF FIXED AMUSEMENT TAX EFFECTIVE APRIL 16, 2016 TO APRIL 15, 2019 Sponsored by: The Committee on Ways and Means (Councilor Ferdinand A. Mathay, Marie O'neal S. Mendoza, Richard F. Peralta, Jose Warren P. Villa and Allen Christopher M. Silvano WHEREAS, the City Council of San Juan, Metro Manila has granted fixed amusement tax rate of Four Hundred Eighty Thousand Pesos (P480,000.00) monthly for eight (8) cinemas or Sixty Thousand Pesos (P60,000.00) per cinema per month to the Music Museum Group, Inc. that will end on April 15, 2016 by virtue of City Ordinance No. 26-2014; HTcADC WHEREAS, the cinemas in Music Museum Group Incorporated are the major factor of bringing in the necessary crowd in the Greenhills Commercial Centers to patronize the business sector thus, providing healthy business activities thereat; WHEREAS, the fixed amusement tax between the City and the Music Museum Group Incorporated assure fixed income without the necessity of monitoring the gate receipts of the cinemas; WHEREAS, the Music Museum Group Incorporated shall remain in giving social and recreational benefits to the Senior Citizen Fund. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of San Juan, Metro Manila, in a session duly assembled that: SECTION 1. The Music Museum Group Incorporated is hereby granted an extension of three years under the agreement of fixed amusement tax rate of P480,000.00 monthly for eight (8) cinemas starting April 16, 2016 up to April 15, 2019, by virtue of Republic Act No. 9640, Section 140 or the New Amusement Tax Law dated February 25, 1990 reducing from 30% to 10% amusement tax. SECTION 2. The Music Museum Group Incorporated shall remain as a City partner in giving social and recreational benefits for the Senior Citizen of San Juan City. SECTION 3. The Business Permits License Office, the Treasury Department and other local agencies concerned are hereby informed. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon approval. CAIHTE (SGD.)
