November 17, 1999 REVENUE MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 85-99 SUBJECT : Security Measures for Computer Hardware, Peripherals and Software TO : All Heads of Offices The Chief, Internal Security Division The Chiefs, Special Investigation Divisions I. OBJECTIVE This Order is issued to ensure the safety and security of computer equipment (hardware, peripherals and software) of the Bureau. llcd II. POLICIES AND GUIDELINES 1. All Heads of Offices at the BIR National Office, Regional and District Offices, and at the Revenue Data Center, shall be held directly responsible for the safekeeping of such equipment. 2. All Heads of Offices shall immediately formulate and implement security measures specifically designed for the care and custody of all computer hardware, peripherals and software installed/stored at their respective Offices. 3. The Internal Security Division at the National Office, and the Special Investigation Divisions at the Regional Offices shall monitor the strict implementation of such security measures. 4. All incidents concerning breach of such security measures shall be reported to the Internal Security Division or the Special Investigation Division concerned, as the case may be, for appropriate investigation.
